I think I saw a shrew around my pile this summer! My partner said they saw something that looked like a beaver in the garden too, which i am thinking was probably a groundhog, bc we don’t live close enough to water. I like when the animals come around, it feels like a good sign to me. I haven’t had the time/energy to harvest anything I planted this year so at least somebody’s eating it lol
omg A SHREW. That is so special. And a groundhog, too!
I also like when animals come around. :)
Unfortunately, I think we’re outliers. Although I’ll keep trying to cheerlead people into being more relaxed/comfortable with some animal guests, hehe.
So many cats here (mine, the neighbors) no rats would dare come close. 😾
Ooo, honestly—I should have included a note on this! I have a large dog and she is.. uh.. persuasive in her deterrence, ha.
I wish we had as many dogs as we do cats. Here in Manila 🇵🇭 cats are EVERYWHERE 😸
One thing I have lots of in my compost tower: May Beetle larvae. There’s one in every 4 scoops (down at the bottom where the finished stuff is).
Would love to see pics of your compost set up if you’re willing to share! So cooo
Sure, will snap pics later when the sun rises. 4am now🌚
ohh yes, early riser. my email is cm@cassmarketos.me !
